Laugh out loud in this comedic opera packed with the tallest tales about this enterprising town that dreams big and has community at its heart.
Find out how the town Quilpie became an object of global desire with its “free” plots of land in a time of rising housing prices, as told by Coop the dinosaur who has his own plan for Quilpie town.
Beginning with Quilpie Shire Council CEO Justin Hancock’s move to the region, which saw the then 30-year-old celebrating his birthday alongside 90 year old Mrs Paulson in the local retirement village because of housing shortages, the idea of the land grant, and the huge global interest it sparked in places as far away as Hong Kong and India.
This new opera will celebrate Quilpie values of fun and community with larger-than-life stories and colourful characters, and rip-roaring music.
