A gentle refuge of light, play and connection.
Created by Hong Kong light artist Amy Chan and Australian composer/sound artist Corrina Bonshek, Light Eaters invites audiences into a living sensory environment inspired by plant intelligence, underground networks and non-human forms of communication.
Responsive fields of light and immersive sound slowly expand and transform throughout the space, creating an atmosphere that is intriguing, playful and deeply calming. In contrast to high-intensity digital environments, Light Eaters embraces simplicity, spaciousness and gentle sensory change — offering audiences a rare opportunity to slow down, breathe and reconnect.
The work functions both as a continuously looping installation and as a live performance experience activated through musicians, spatial sound and audience participation using interactive light-sound devices created by Amy Chan.
Suitable for galleries, black box theatres and unconventional spaces, Light Eaters is multigenerational and highly adaptable, appealing to audiences interested in immersive art, ecological thinking, creativity and contemplative experiences.
Workshop options include creating simple light-activated musical devices and opportunities for local musicians and community participants to engage with Corrina Bonshek’s open-score performance framework.
