Corrina Bonshek & Collaborators (CB&Co) is a Gold Coast-based not-for-profit arts company and registered charity founded in 2021 by composer and Artistic Director Corrina Bonshek. We create and tour immersive, music-led works inspired by nature, place and human connection.
Music sits at the heart of everything we make. Our work brings contemporary composition together with spatial sound, environmental recordings, light, poetry, movement and other artforms, and ranges from intimate listening experiences to large-scale performances involving orchestras and musicians from diverse cultural traditions.
Collaboration and intercultural exchange are central to our practice. We work with First Nations and culturally diverse artists in Australia and internationally, creating space for different musical traditions, cultural knowledge and ways of listening to meet through contemporary performance.
Our work has grown from the Gold Coast to reach audiences across Australia, Asia, Europe and North America, presented in theatres, galleries, concert halls, festivals, parks and unusual spaces including a bomb shelter in Helsinki and a lighthouse in Iceland.
Major works include Song to the Earth, Song to the Ocean, Song to the Whales, Piano Room, The Space Between Us and Swimming Through a Universe of Sound.
In 2025, Song to the Whales toured North America through Montréal, Toronto, Niagara and New York, culminating in a performance at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. Our work has also been presented at Place des Arts Montréal, the Arvo Pärt Centre in Estonia, Singapore Arts in Your Neighbourhood Festival, Rainforest Fringe Festival Malaysia, Bleach Festival and cultural institutions across Australia and internationally.
Collaboration & Intercultural Exchange
We live and work in a culturally diverse world. We believe contemporary Australian music should reflect that diversity—not simply in who appears on stage, but in how work is created.
Our projects bring together artists from different musical and cultural traditions through long-term relationships built around listening, curiosity and mutual exchange. Collaborators have included musicians and artists from Australia, Aotearoa New Zealand, Canada, Malaysia, Singapore and other parts of the Asia-Pacific.
Rather than asking artists to fit within a single musical language, our collaborative processes create space for their individual musical identities, knowledge and traditions to shape the work itself.
These relationships have led to works including Song to the Whales, bringing together Australian, Māori, Inuit and intercultural musical practices; international iterations of The Space Between Us created with different musicians and places; and new collaborations continuing across Australia and the Asia-Pacific.
We are interested in what can happen when people listen deeply—to music, to place, to nature and to each other.
Company History
CB&Co grew from Corrina’s long-running collaboration with producer Greta Kelly (pictured), beginning with Song to the Earth. First developed through the City of Gold Coast’s Generate program, Song to the Earth became a major body of work presented in Australia and internationally and led to its sister works Song to the Ocean and Song to the Whales. Greta played an important role in establishing CB&Co in 2021 and continues to serve on its Board.
Organisation & Governance
Corrina Bonshek & Collaborators Limited is a registered charity and not-for-profit public company limited by guarantee, based on the Gold Coast.
Composer Dr Corrina Bonshek is Artistic Director and Creative Producer, leading the company’s artistic program and day-to-day operations.
CB&Co is governed by a three-person Board comprising Corrina Bonshek, Greta Kelly and Peter Griffiths, with a majority of independent non-executive directors. The Board brings experience across artistic practice, producing, governance, finance and organisational development.
The company has received support from the City of Gold Coast, Creative Australia, Music Australia, Arts Queensland and the Australian Government, alongside partnerships with presenters and cultural organisations in Australia and internationally.
